Are you in full control of your career? Do you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in your career? Do you know what you need to do to get to that vision? If your answer is “No” then you risk facing failure and you should act immediately to create a “roadmap” outlining the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. These steps can be as simple as knowing your Strengths & Weaknesses, or as complex as choosing the Right Course, the Right Institute, the Right Job Role, and the Right Company! Our Module on “Career Roadmap Development” takes you through this journey of self discovery, maps your strengths and weaknesses to your future aspirations and thereby creates your customized Career Roadmap.
- Self Assessment & Discovery
Learning starts with Self Awareness which when combined with Formal Education leads to Personal and Professional growth. In this part of the module you will be required to take a few Psychometric Tests. Our experienced Counsellors will then sit down with you to analyse your Career Track Record (education as well as non education). This will be followed by a Personal SWOT Analysis, which is a time tested framework for analysing internal Strengths and Weaknesses as well as external Opportunities and Threats. The main purpose of a SWOT is to leverage on the identified strengths, work towards reducing the weaknesses, exploit the opportunities and come up with contingency plans to neutralize the threats.
- Goal Setting
You can’t start mapping your route if you don’t know your destination. The first step in planning out your career path will be to find out “Where you want to go”. Our Counsellors will sit down with you to understand your dreams and aspirations and help you create a detailed personal vision statement of where you would like to be at various points in the coming years.
- Introduction to Industry, Organization and Job Role
In this part of the module, our Counsellors will introduce you to certain concepts and information which you have not yet encountered viz. what is an industry and what are its different types; what is an organization and what is its structure; what are the types of job roles available in an organization and what are the routes (e.g vocational education vis-à-vis formal education) available to arrive at that job role. We believe that this knowledge will help you form an idea of what job role, and accordingly what educational course you need to pursue.
- Analysis & Recommendations – Connecting the Dots!
The last part of the module focuses on developing your Career Roadmap. Our experienced Counsellors will look at your Self Discovery test results, analyse your Career Track Record, look at your Career Goals and then Map them with Entry Level Courses and identified Job Roles. They will finally take you through your customized Career Roadmap which will be your guiding document for the long term (next 4-5 years).
